All you need is a flickr account to upload your pictures, you don't have to pay anything.

On jiffr.com, you introduce yourself without words, only using the language of pictures. It’s a sort of encoding your personality. Once you are registered, you can select the pictures you want to represent you. Then you’ll be able to choose users you wanna meet. The icing on the cake is that the algorithm behind gives you only one match once a week and you only have one chance to meet your favorite “picture mystery”. On Thursdays, the users will be notified whether they have a match and on Saturdays they have the chance to meet each other. The meeting point is determined by the engine on a random basis.

Flickr Photosets

Flickr Photosets brings together Flickr and Facebook. Lockr decouples social networking information from content sharing.

Lockr provides a universally accessible address book for maintaining a single copy of a user's social network. Lockr also provides an access control scheme that makes sharing personal content easy.

Sharing personal content online is surprisingly hard despite the recent emergence of a huge number of content sharing systems and sites. These systems suffer from several drawbacks: they each have a different way of providing access control which cannot be used in other systems; moving to a new system is a lengthy process and requires registration and invitation of all the friends to the new system; and the rules for access control are complicated and become more so as our networks of online friends grow.

Lockr makes sharing personal content easy. Lockr provides a universally accessible address book for maintaining a single copy of a user's social network, as well as an access control scheme that makes sharing personal data easy. Lockr separates social networks from content delivery.

Currently, Lockr allows people to control how their share their data over BitTorrent and Flickr only. We are planning to support more content sharing systems soon. Please, drop us a note. if you would like to help.

Currently Lockr has three modules:

    * Lockr Center: is a Facebook app. used for exchanging passes with friends
    * Lockr for Flickr: is a Mozilla Firefox extension that enables Lockr for Flickr
    * Lockr for BitTorrent: is a modified Azureus client that enables Lockr for BitTorrent content (available for Windows and Linux)

Startup Search

Tracking the web technology startup ecosystem. For your business:
Register as firm and link venues with your profile. It's free!
Later you can give special permissions to users who belong to your business in order to allow them to manage guestlists and VIP lists for your venues, and promote events.

How we are using Flickr API:
In Keevu, every venue 'magically' gets photos after submission thanks to the venue name, and the venue city. We search in Flickr for photos tagged with those keywords and show the found photos in the venue profile. We make use of cache, of course!

With routes and events we make something similar, but we use tagmachines. An example of tagmachine would be keevu:event=9. With this tag, we are indicating that the photo is for the event ID 9 in Keevu, and photos tagged like this, will be shown in the event details.
For routes we do the same.

Flickr, Y!
